Taming Toxic In-Laws

Trying to live happily ever after but have pushy parents? Don't let your in-laws become out-laws!

Married life often includes well-intentioned in-laws or toxic ones (controlling, manipulative, intrusive, etc...you name the others), who come with opinions, unsolicited advice and their own agendas.

Great in-laws relationships can help make your marriage greater. In-laws can be a wonderful influence on a marriage, however they are also listed among the top reasons for divorce.

EASIER SAID THAN DONE...here some tips to share:
1. Treat your in-laws the same way you would want your spouse to treat your own parents.
2. Got to work with your spouse to make a unified team that can deal with parental conflicts without losing your connection with each other.
3. Make your spouse a priority over your parents, even if it upset them...don't say 'NO' to your spouse so you can say 'YES' to your parents.
4. Behave as an adult on a equal level to your parents and realize that your needs are just as important as theirs.
5. Present yourselves as a united couple to your parents and in-laws.
